I could not recommend Penelope’s place more highly. Wonderful location – all the peace and quiet of a remote cottage but within a walk (or kind lift from Penelope) of a friendly street full of bars and restaurants. Gorgeous cottage with charm. Lovely touches like a wood fire, breakfast and fab toiletries. Be sure to check out the farmers market on Sunday, and try the trek up the mountain direct from the back garden. I made it half way! Highly recommended.

Highly recommend.

Very accurate to the posted description. Lovely set up – Penelope left us breakfast and stocked the mini fridge. After check in, she left us alone which was appreciated. Super hot weekend by the AC set up kept us cool. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience.

Our host was generous and thoughtful. We had a wonderful experience.

I recommend staying here!

Penelope was very accommodating and picked us up from Dia: Beacon. The house is a perfect location, close walk to Main Street. Small kitchen in the apartment is perfect and Penelope left us some breakfast and snacks! AC kept upstairs and downstairs comfortable. I recommend staying here!

Perfect for a weekend get away.

Penelope place was fantastic and exactly as described. Very cozy with a lot of character. Perfect for a weekend get away.

The rental had a nice, writerly feel to it and was very cozy.

Soothing jazz music was playing as we entered the space, and plenty of nice amenities were around to be enjoyed. The rental had a nice, writerly feel to it and was very cozy.

From the back yard you can hike right in to Mt Beacon which was great.

It’s an easy walk to get into town, and perfect if you want to hike up Mt. Beacon.

Penelope picked us up from the train station right when we arrived. The house is very cozy. It’s an easy walk to get into town, and perfect if you want to hike up Mt. Beacon as a trailhead is right there. We had a fire the night we stayed, and saw turkeys in morning.

It’s a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of Beacon town, but enjoyable.

Penelope picked us up from town in her car, which was very nice of her. She also laid on breakfast and built a fire in the old wood stove, in case we wanted it. (We did!) Location is at the foot of Mount Beacon, which was ideal to take a morning hike all the way up to the picture-postcard reservoir and be back for lunch! It’s a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of Beacon town, but enjoyable. Penelope was always available by text to answer any questions.

The house was cozy and inviting, very romantic.

Penelope was a wonderful hostess. she gave us excellent dinner recommendations. the accommodation was perfect if you can handle steep stairs to the loft. The house was cozy and inviting, very romantic. Probably want to rent a car and not rely on Taxi service in Beacon, but we were able to walk into town.
